HYPOTHERMIA RESPONSE TRAINING
From November 5th to 8th, 2024, in Stepancminda, Kazbegi, Georgia, the next edition of the specialized medical mountain rescuers training will take place, supported by the Visegrad Fund. This intensive three-day training will focus on medical and rescue procedures related to hypothermia, aiming to prepare participants for effective response in emergency situations in extreme mountain conditions.
The lead instructor for the training will be Marcin Błeński from the Medyk Rescue Team, who has extensive experience in field medical rescue. He will be supported by a team of trainers from the Beskidzka GOPR Group, the Czech Republic’s Mountain Rescue Service (HSCR), the Mountain Rescue Service of Pieniny National Park from Slovakia, as well as local experts from Kazbegi Mountain Rescue and Volunteer Mountain Rescuers from Georgia.
The training will host 30 participants, who over three days will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in hypothermia rescue. The program includes both theoretical sessions and practical rescue scenarios, ensuring comprehensive preparation for operating in challenging mountain conditions.
